Read my dissertation topic, problem statement and research purpose:
For the topic of my preliminary dissertation I will focus on why psychology is an important aspect of organizational leadership, and therefore a key component in building a successful organization or corporation. From my assessment, psychologically competent leaders exhibit high levels of emotional intelligence. They leverage emotional intelligence to understand and accommodate diverse personalities, and therefore they interact with employees in their organization more simply. Psychological understanding enables the leaders to have better ideas on how to motivate their employees as well as inspiring creativity.
A lot of studies have been conducted to explore factors, such as personal traits, models and experience among others, that influence the effectiveness of leaders. However, the study of the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership has not received extensive research. The social competence of leaders is heavily incumbent on their ability to manage their relationship as well as their social awareness. In this case, social awareness involves being cognizant of the emotional needs of others. The psychological disposition of leaders is critical because they must manage their emotions while at the adjusting in response to the emotions of the subject. Therefore, it is quite important to explore the psychological fact of leadership and the skills exemplifying emotional intelligence.
The main purpose of this research is to explore emotional intelligence and its link to effective leadership. Specifically, the research will focus on the utilization of emotional intelligence by leaders to advance their agendas as well as executing their responsibilities effectively.

Narong hypothesized that emotional intelligent factors like self-awareness have a significant impact and relationship on the effectiveness of leaders in the different US firms. The other hypothesis is self-assessment of emotional intelligence will significantly affect scores of leaders. The findings indicated there is no significant relationship between the measures of emotional intelligence such as relationship management with the perceived levels of efficiency of the organization leaders.
