SPSS Data Assignment Analysis Help

The assignment I have is an SPSS data assignment, and I need you to answer 3 questions based on the lesson slides demonstrating how to answer such questions. I am attaching the related slides (For 3a – Slides 8,9; for 3b – Slides 10,11; for 3c – Slide 11) as well as the dataset of the assignment. I need you to be succinctly and to the point (approximately 500 words suffice), insert figures and tables as copy-paste images from SPSS in the text. Only insert a figure or table into the text if you also explain its substantive significance. For each (sub)question, adhere to the following structure, if possible:

1. Explorative data analysis (needs to have a table and a figure)

2. Statistical inference:

(1) Formulate hypotheses + models, applied to the specific situation! (No copy-pasting from the formula sheet)

(2) Test statistic &

(3) p-value (Reject or accept H0?)

(4) Effect size + interpretation (except for contrasts) (5) Formulate conclusion. For this assignment, it suffices to check the assumptions only for those research questions where this is explicitly stated. If you find that an assumption is violated, you do not need to take measures to address it. Instead, mention it, but proceed with the further analyses to answer the research question. Assignment context and the questions: “In a study by Gilorem & Medets (2015), the mental processing of numerical quantities in first-grade children was investigated. Based on assessments by an accompanying teacher, participating students were pre-classified into 3 groups (‘Group3’):

  • Children without math problems (control)
  • Children with mild math problems (LA)
  • Children with severe math problems (MLD)

Additionally, the variable ‘Z_math’ represents the z-scores of all children on a standardized math test. The variable ‘Sex’ indicates the gender of the students. The researchers suspect that children who perform well on the symbolic numerical magnitude comparison task and the symbolic approximate addition task will also perform well on the standardized mathematics test. Additionally, the researchers suspect that the groups also play a role in this. Answer the following research questions about this: a.

Is there a significant difference between the three groups in terms of score on the standardized mathematics test, after controlling for the score on the symbolic approximate addition task? b. Now also add an interaction effect to the model. Is the relationship between the score on the symbolic approximate addition task and the score on the standardized mathematics test significantly different for children from the control group and children from the group with severe problems? c. Based on the full model from b), write down the within-group regression line for the children from the group with severe problems.”
