Discover Diversity Project Assignment Help

Language acquisition and literacy development are impacted by diverse learners’ strengths and weaknesses. Knowledge of one’s learners and how speech and language delays, learning disabilities, or medical conditions affect their learning is crucial for the teacher to create the best learning environment. Having knowledge of the literacy standards and how to use various literacy assessments are essential for planning instruction and creating learning environments that will positively influence student learning.

Module 6: Week 6Discover Diversity Project: Vocabulary and Comprehension Assignment

For each of the two project assignments listed above, you will apply the Gipe & Richards (2019) Chapters 8 – 11 readings to the two language and literacy components designated for the assignment. Using the provided Discover Diversity Project Template, each of the assignments should consist of the following:

  • A summary of the applicable chapter(s) written in 300 words or more.
  • A list of features of a language and literacy-rich environment and an explanation of how each listed feature promotes learning in the area of the language/literacy component.

The reading specialist candidates also will include possible aspects of the school environment that may not have the necessary resources readily available, and they will provide ways through their advocacy at the community and district levels to help the schools to get the necessary resources.

  •  Your original development of an instructional strategy related to the specific component that targets at least three different learning diversities. Describe each diverse learner and how your developed strategy is differentiated to meet the needs of the learners based on evidence-based practice. Ensure you properly cite and reference the sources you use for evidence.
  • Your design of a Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM), progress monitoring tool, or informal assessment to measure the students’ growth in the area of the language/literacy component. You may model your tool or assessment after the assessments in the appendices of the Gipe & Richards (2019) text.
  • A written reflection of how these tasks will positively impact language/literacy development for diverse learners. Draw on professional experience in your reflection. Include how SCRIP or a biblical worldview applies to your chosen approaches. This section is to be 250 words or more.
