The essay will be a literary analysis and will have you looking at more than just plot. This is not just a summary of the story: you will examine the character’s attitudes and growth (along with other story elements) and connect them to one of the following topics:
Discuss how the theme of love is related to the theme of money in The Great Gatsby. Your essay needs to consist of exactly 5 paragraphs: introductory paragraph, three body paragraphs and a conclusion.
Each body paragraph needs to have 2 valid points to support your statement.
You must also include a minimum of four different quotes overall. Each body paragraph has to have at least 1 quotations.
Your essay will be between 500 and 600 words in length, not including Works Cited and in-text citations.
Remembering when citing your sources, you need to include (Fitzgerald Page Number) for the first citation in a paragraph. If your next citation is from the same novel it is (Page Number).
