CYB 210 Module Two Packet Tracer Activity Guidelines and Rubric

Overview

The application of fundamental networking concepts provides the foundation for the increasingly complex task of designing a communication needs. In this activity, you will use Packet Tracer to perform the basic tasks of adding, connecting, and configu will need to modify an existing network by creating a new subnetwork and then add new systems to the reference network.

The image below is a logical diagram of the network for this activity.

The network topology details for this lab are located in the table below.

    1. Add a new printer (labeled Printer1_Marketing) and assign an IP address as indicated in the table above.
      1. Drag a printer from the End Devices group into the Marketing Network.
      1. Double-click to configure the label, IP address or subnet mask, and default gateway. iii. Connect the printer with a Copper Straight Through Cable to the Marketing Switch.
  2. Create and populate the Advertising subnetwork.
    1. Select a new and valid Ipv4 network address with a correct subnet mask for the Advertising subnetwork. Ind
      1. Select an IP address from the Advertising Network to assign to the Advertising Gateway interface for Route
      1. Typically, this is the first usable address on the network.
      1. Configure the Advertising Gateway address on Router0.
      1. Assign the IP address to FastEthernet 1/0 on Router0.

      1. Connect a Copper-Stright-Through cable from Router0 FastEthernet1/0 to any port on the Advertising swit
    1. Add a new generic PC (labeled PC1_Advertising) to the Advertising subnetwork. The method of connection is u through the router (Router0_Gateway).
  3. Test connections between devices in the Marketing and Advertising subnetworks. Submit three screenshots of ping te A. Screenshot showing the result of executing the ping command from PC1_Marketing to PC3_Marketing.
    1. Screenshot showing the result of executing the ping command from PC2_Marketing to Printer1_Marketing.
    1. Screenshot showing the result of executing the ping command from PC1_Advertising to PC1_Marketing.

What to Submit

Your submission should include two files. Your network modification will be in the form of a Microsoft Word document co results. Use a filename that includes the course code, the assignment title, and your name—for example, CYB_100_Project_On file using the same naming convention.
